FREE FALL… where to start with FREE FALL…
FREE FALL is a book I wrote totally for myself, because I loved it. I loved the ideas. I loved the characters. I loved getting to write it every day.
Thieves.
Rogues.
Found Family.
Secret Identities.
Space Heists.
FREE FALL had everything but a champion. So I sent it out to make the query rounds. The results were good. Lots of people loved it. One agent rejected it and still scheduled a phone call to talk about anything else I was working on. One agent had some immensely helpful feedback that spawned two new chapters and six new side books.
And then finally, FINALLY, I found an agent who loved FREE FALL as much as I do. Who got it. Who wanted to sell this book and work with me.
I’m happy to announce that I have signed with Cherry Weiner of Cherry Weiner Literary Agency.
This isn’t where the story ends, this is where the story starts.
For those of you unfamiliar with the traditional publishing process finding an agent for the book is not the same as a sale (looks at Mom and Dad). There isn’t a publication date yet because FREE FALL hasn’t been acquired by a publisher yet. That comes later.
First, FREE FALL goes through edits with my agent.
Second, the book gets shopped to publishers.
Third, one (or more) of the publishers offers us a deal for the book, we negotiate, and then FREE FALL goes to edits. That’s when a release date and cover will be picked.
STATS: Because querying authors like to have these kind of details…
Total Number Of Queries Sent: 38

THE QUERY
The crew of the Free Fall has a reputation. They say that if you need something delivered fast, and discretely, past blockades or in war zones, the Free Fall can get it for you. Legal or illegal.
Clingy former owners no problem at all.
Captain Rig Dair has worked hard to develop that reputation, and he’s built a good life for him and his crew by following one simple rule: always get paid.
Which is why being blackmailed by a warlord to steal a diamond grates so much. The crew will do it, though. None of them like the idea of becoming indentured slaves. And it’s not like lifting a gem from a wealthy man’s house is hard.
Unless there’s another crew going after the same gem.
And that crew gets caught and sent to the galaxy’s most notorious prison.
That… that could be a problem. It looks like the crew of the Free Fall is going to add Prison Break to their long list of crimes.
FREE FALL… it’s going to be a wild ride. 🙂
